Standard Laminate Slitter - Model 1000
Standard/Custom Slitter - Model 4800 Fast Set Slitter
Standard/Custom Slitter - Model 72000 Fast Set Slitter
Unwind, Multiple Slit, Multiple Rewind
This system, designed for a large manufacturer of decorative laminates, creates laminate strips from laminate sheets with broken corners or defective areas, reclaiming the usable material which is used to make sample chips.
This system is designed for a medium size manufacturer of glass and carbon reinforced resin strip. It is designed to operate in a continuous web line. It features infinitely adjustable tooling for strip width control and the ability to follow a "wandering" web - webs which have camber. These features allow quick tooling setup and increase yeild by allowing slits to be made near the web edge without breaking out of the web edges due to web camber.
We believe that our Model 1000 slitter is the best single cut laminate slitter on the market. It is simply the strongest, the most accurately manufactured, and the easiest slitter to maintain. This machine has a full ten inch cut-width capacity in an open ended ("C" frame) construction. Motor and drive are 120 VAC, single phase, 1/2 HP, 70 FPM, with reversing switch. No kerf is produced with our two blade design. Heavy 6" OD by 5/16" thick blades can be flipped or changed without arbor disassembly or adjustment. One inch thick ground steel table and self squaring fence are included. A floor stand and/or variable speed drive is optional.
The Model 4800 Fast Set Slitter is both a standard and custom system designed for use where quick changing of cut widths is needed. The number of blade pairs and the overall width of the slitter depend on the specific application (48" inch throat and 5 blade pairs shown). Blade pairs may be stored in an inactive area if not all blades are needed for cutting a given work order. Digital readouts show the position of each blade pair. Process speed is application specific. These slitters are typically used in non-ferrous and non-metallic exotic materials.
The Model 72000 Fast Set Slitter is both a standard and custom system designed for use where quick changing of cut widths is needed. The number of blade pairs and the overall width of the slitter depend on the specific application (72" inch throat and 7 blade pairs shown). Blade pairs may be stored in an inactive area if not all blades are needed for cutting a given work order. Digital readouts show the position of each blade pair. Process speed is application specific. These slitters are typically used in non-ferrous and non-metallic exotic materials.
We designed this automation for slitting a non-woven web-fed product. The fibers of the product were of such small diameter that the slitter knives are manufactured to thickness tolerances in the millioneth-inch range and are operated with zero clearance between each knife pair. System elements include a torque controlled unwind station with a web edge tracking sensor to control wandering and track camber, a multiple-cut slitter with adjustable height upper arbor and blade-and-spacer style tooling, and a dual takeup multiple-strip rewind with torque control. The rewind is also designed to create tension on every strip individually, regardless of the quantity of strips being rewound, keeping all strips taut.
